Kawah Putih (White Crater) Sleepy Hollow Bandung, West Java

10-13/01/2012 Kawah Putih (White Crater) Bandung, West Java ~ So i went to Bandung again (my 4th time). Supposed that i went alone but then my 17 years old cousin decided to join me. Thank god (for the budget thingy hehe) She is waiting for her high school (SPM) exam result. It is like a celebration for her after sitting for the exam. This time i decided to go to the South of Bandung. I decided to go to Kawah Putih (White crater) as i haven't been there (my cousin agreed with me) and it was a great decision. I love the journey there. It was beautiful. I absolutely love it :)). As soon as we arrived there, it was raining, cloudy and bleakly. There goes my chance to see the whitish blue coloured lake that i always wanted to see :( The place were covered with thick fog. Because of rains and thick misty fogs, my photo didn't came out good. Oh well.. but who cares i get to be there!

Suddenly at some part, i feel like being somewhere in sleepy hollow movie scene (one of my favorite movie). The temperatures is 9c. The place is shivering cold. My cousin nearly gave up of the cold weather. I still manage to go on. We were soaking wet as we decided to go to the White crater lake eventhough it was raining.

Well, we got there and we will not going to backout just because of rains. Beside our hometown has a warm and hot temperature through out the year and when rain came down we feel so bless :) so we feel a bit excited with this kind of temperature. I mean it is not everyday we get to feel this type of weather!

After that we went to the nearest lake called 'Situ Patengan'. The journey from Kawah Putih to Situ Patengan is around 30 minutes. On the way there you can see breath taking scenery. I would really like to build a house here minus the volcano's threat hehehe.

it's already midday but it lookslike early in the morning

a local  friend, a local guide and the driver from Bandung :)

The lake are surrounding with tea bushes. This place had some kind of legend about "love tragedy". It is to believe that if unmarried or single people came and visit the stone of love 'Batu Cinta' they will find their future soulmate soon :D [interesting huh?] They claimed that the island nearby is heart shaped and it is called 'Pulau Asmara' [Romance Island] :P

To go to Batu Cinta location, you need to ride on a boat. The Boat will cost you RP40'000 if you rent it per boat. But it is alway cheap if you share and ride it with other peoples. i forgot how much i paid for the fees.. was it RP2000 or RP4000? *SIGH*  Well.. i leave you with rest of the photos.

can you read the info board? for those who can read Indonesian and Malay.

David helped us a lot. He's a driver for people that come to Bandung that like to pose a lot haha!

look left side of me. that the heart shaped

see the heart shaped.. haha

batu cinta [stone of love] location

that's not the stone of love.. that stone is deserted in a stone of love location.. so it's kind of irony, right?

ok, the purpose of this photo is to show you the guest house that i stay for every single visit to Bandung. It is a budget guest house called 'Orange Home' (formerly known as 'Rumah evi' and rename as 'Kampung Melayu'. On this trip i, accidentally found a new stay recently and decided to stay there in my next trip to Bandung.

**This is how Kawah Putih look a like with good weather :)

**Note: i do not own this photo. i searched through google to get a clear mind how this place will look in good weather. Beautiful huh?

I will go to Kawah Putih (white crater) again. This time i hope the the weather will be so kind enough to me and i will get to see that heavenly whitish blue coloured lake. Beside i like the journey to Kawah Putih more than Tangkuban Perahu (that is boring to me) which i went several time sometimes ago.

THE END.
