Taiping the Rain City Perak Malaysia (Part I)

2 – 4 June 2010 Taiping, Perak Malaysia (Part I) ~ I haven't been to Taiping for ages. So it's time to go and visit the place again. My grandfather used to live and work here as a Custom officer during British Rule. So i am excited to see the place again. I went with, of course my travel friend and my colleague from different company (we used to go to Krabi together) tagged-along with us. So there were 3 of us. We went by my car so that means i am the driver. It took us about 3.5 hours to arrived to our destination (usually it will took 4 hours) but i admit i did a bit of speeding :D hee hee. I love Taiping very much. So, as usual sharing some photos.

heading to Changkit Jering, Exit to Taiping.

We reached taiping at 12:30pm. It has been ages since my last visit. I love this heritage town.

We already decided to stay at Kamalodge. To get to Kamalodge is easy. Just go straight til you reached Taiping lake Garden and go towards Maxwell Hill (Bukit Larut). You can see Kamalodge signboard there as Kamalodge stood near foot of Maxwell Hill.

After done with check-in and stuff we went out for lunch. it was 2:30pm. We decided to go to Kuala Sepetang (a.k.a Port Weld) to grab this famous 'Mee Banjir Udang' (flooded with prawn noodles . . sumthin' like that hahaha). We went for 'Mak Teh' stall. It wasn't bad at all. The prawn is fresh cause Kuala Sepetang is near to fisherman wharf. We went there to see the fisherman with their caught of the day. We saw pile and pile of fresh prawns. If i live nearby i would have buy or 'borong' those fresh prawn :D My late grandfather lived near to Kuala Sepetang (that had been told by my father).

After leaving Kuala Sepetang, we head back to Taiping town and stopped by at Taiping Lake Garden. I parked my car nearby a food court by the lake. I think Taiping lake is much more beautiful than other Lake Garden (i.e Titiwangsa). We spend sometimes enjoying the greenery view of Taiping Lake Garden surrounding 'Banjaran Titiwangsa' (Titiwangsa Range, Titiwangsa Mountain) which i love so much!!!

My first star jump! i like it here!!!!

my 2nd star jump! i really love it here!
At evening from the Lake we walked to the town for dinner. We went to Doli's Koey Teow. Doli's has transformed to a restaurant! As far as i remember, Doli's is a small Koey Teow stall at night market. They are now having their own franchise even at Kuala Lumpur. Impressive!

Dusk time, we headed to Doli's.

Our ride at the Zoo's.

After leaving Zoo, we headed back to Kamalodge, clean and freshen' up and sleep to get up early for the next day activities.
