6 - 8 March 2009 Aonang, Krabi Thailand (Part II) ~ The next day, we woke up early in the morning to go to the Elephant trekking tour. Before that we went for our breakfast provided by Aonang Village. They gave us American breakfast.. hmmm not bad at all. After that we wait for our Van to pick us up. Our first destination is Hot water stream. It took us about 40 minutes to get there. I swear i forgot the name of that place. I should have bring my note book and write or jot names of places that i had been. Like i said before, we didn't really study about Aonang and Krabi, so we prepared nothing.

At the hot stream you'll get to soak for 20 minutes only. They will not recommended for you to stay longer because of natural heat. So after getting soaking for a while, we climbed back to our transportation and move on to Emerald pool. It took about 15 minutes to get to Emerald pool. When we reached to the destination we have to walk about 1KM through out the jungle tracking to get to Emerald pool. It was fun though.

| it said within 1 and half hour, but our guide took us using a short cut hehe |

| emerald pool. crowded with school kids! |
When we arrived the pool were crowded with Patani's Student because it was school holidays. After that we leave the pool for lunch. Lunch were provided by them and it's "Halal" as our guide is a Muslim's. We had rice with corn, tom yum of course (nice!) and chicken with cashew nuts. Yummy when your tummy is empty.
After that we move on to the tiger cave. I was so naive to believe that there will be tigers, but it was name after a monk who found the place with tigers around to build the monastery and temple. So no tigers :((( hahaha!

Our last destination is the Elephant trekking. We get to ride on an elephant through out 30 minutes jungle trekking. As much as it seems enjoyable but it was scary. We were so afraid if the elephant went biserk!! But we get the cutest and kindest elephant called 'Thaw'. When we done with the trekking, we get to feed 'Thaw'. Poor "Thaw". (i don't like to see the metal cane!!!!! ). Will i ride on the elephant in the future?? maybe not! it depends.

Then we get to climbed the elephant hut and enjoy sweet pineapples. They also gave us mineral water. We ate the pineaple while enjoying the view from the tall hut. It was truely relaxing!
 |
| nice mineral bottle. kind of irony huh? that wasn't a plastic bottle, it was glass! |

We get back to Aonang town around 4:30pm. Took a shower and then get a quick stroll again at the beach area to get a massage. Like i said i only get foot reflexology and a body massage for my colleague. Then we went for window shopping around Aonang town and grab our dinner at the bamboo thingy restaurant (i forgot the name). That night is our last night, so we decided to have a big dinner. We had grilled squid, grilled barracuda's, Tom Yum, Som tum (my favorite) and some salad on the house. We had also fresh Coconut drink to slushed down with the food. Everthing were fresh and cheap. It was a great dinner!
 |
| last dinner at Aonang. super yummy! |
 |
| i'm stuffed! |
That's all for the Aonang's trip. I think i like Aonang and Krabi more than Bangkok. I had a great time here and i will be back soon (when i have the money hehehe). So, for me Aonang and Krabi is a great place to spend time when everything is not right at the moment. And i am not regret taking the Elephant trekking tour cause the truth is i am not fans of beaches, but to see beautiful island i can make an exception :D
THE END.
