Melbourne, Australia Day 4 (Part III) Philips Island - Koala Conservation and Penguin Parade 18/05/2012

Melbourne, Australia Day 4 (Part III) Philips Island - Koala Conservation and Penguin Parade 18/05/2012 ~ So like i said we were rushing to Koala Conservation Centre. It situated not that far from Churchill island, still you need a car to go to every distance between those 3 parks. Actually we are trying to limit time because we need to be at The Penguin Parade an hour early before the schedule given on the ticket.

the boardwalk

we can use this excuse if we're being lazy :)

While walking on boardwalk everyone was wondering 'where's the Koala' and then suddenly we saw one, two and three and goes on :D they were sleeping up there on tall trees. I had to zoom my camera to get a photo of them. Then i saw one on a tree that really close to the boardwalk. But unfortunately we cannot touch them. I thought at Koala conservation there will be someone or a staff holding a Koala and given a visitor a chance to touch or hold them. But i guess not or maybe there is a session to do that, that we already missed it... :(

can you see up on the tree??

this one is really near to boardwalk

zoom it

this is just behind the koala boardwalk

There are souvenirs, t-shirts, toys, etc.. that you can buy at the entrance. I didn't buy any cause it was too expensive for me. There is also huge Koala Plushie for visitor to take photo with.

Giant Koala... plushie :D

This is no real Koala. It's robotic Koala

Koala Do Do is actually a chocolate coated peanuts hahaha. not 'that' other thing.

We left Koala Conservation to Penguin Parade. We got there in the nick of time. Too bad at Penguin Parade you are prohibited to take photos of the Penguins. Such a waste. But we can still take photos around the building but not during the penguin parade session. This is because they are trying to save the habitants because Penguins are sensitive to Camera Flash.

The waiting section is near by the beach and it was freezing cold!!! I get to see the cute little penguin came out from the sea to the coastline, parading to their nest. They were so cute i wish i could take them home. After quite sometimes, visitor is recommended to walk along penguin board to the main building because we can see those penguins in near distance because their nest is surrounding the building. I wish i can take their photos :((( Visitor also been advised to check under their car for penguins before they leave.

Sorry Photo is prohibited :(((((

Penguin's photo is good enough, oh well.....

Of course you can always buy souvenirs here. I bought one fridge magnet because i think that this is the only place i can get Penguin Parade fridge magnet.

again this is chocolate coated peanuts. not really penguin pooooo :D

Souvenirs Shop lot, but i like the signboard. cute.

it's getting late. Bye2 penguins :(

We left Penguin Parade at night time. So we headed back to the city that took almost 2 hours. On the way back we stopped by at Koo Wee Rup' s Woolworth hypermarket to buy snack and something to cook at the hostel tomorrow. We check-in again at Space Hotel. So end of our Road trip. But there are still more..
