Melbourne, Australia Day 7 Puffing Billy & St. Kilda - (21/05/2012)

Melbourne, Australia Day 7 Puffing Billy & St. Kilda - (21/05/2012) ~ Today i went to Puffing Billy with good friend that i know. This is the day that i felt like i own this day. Just 2 of us doing things that we want. My others travel friends didn't want to follow. Maybe wanting to do more branded shopping. To go to Puffing Billy you have to go by Metro link to Belgrave. So we went to Flinders Station (more like KL central). We took the one day Zone1 & 2 ticket because to get to Belgrave you have to go through Zone 1 & 2 area by metrolink (train). The ticket cost is AUD11.90 and we can use it whole day even with paid tram. During the journey i get to see such beautiful view.

Belgrave station is a pit stop for Puffing Billy.

5 minutes walk to Puffing Billy

When we arrived at Belgrave, the weather is freezing to death!!!! and i mean it! We were shivering but we manage to go on. I straightly love the Puffing billy area. It is like an old skool place and most of the worker there are elder people :) they are very nice and polite.

Our train is on 12:30pm. We arrived there on 11:45pm.

Most of the station master and the worker look like this doll, seriously!

There are many route you can take. But we only took to Menzies Creek because this is the cheaper one :)) (that's ok as long as i can ride on that Steam train.) it took 30 minutes to Menzies creek and another 30 minutes to get back to Belgrave. So, it's an hour ride.

When we check back the ticket, we realised that the ticket wasn't in the same price. My friend said maybe they thought i was under age hehe :D

You can sit like this when riding the train. The station master asking me to do that. That was his hand that only show a bit in the photo :D. please abaikan lemak2 di bandan :D heheheee enjoy the scenery :)

See... old skool people.

Train started to move

chugging on an old wooden bridge, cool huh??

Arrived at Menzies Creek we have to wait for the Return train. While waiting what else to do rather than photo session. Like i said the weather is freaking cold to the max. I regretted wearing my friend thin jacket (auughh!!!)

So we return back to Belgrave for 30 minutes journey. On departing i was sitting on Right side of the train as the Station master advised me to sit on the right side because i can see more nice view. So on Returning to Belgrave i sat on the left side of the train. I guess it is true, there was nothing much to see at the left side of the train.

train is coming

arrived back to Belgrave

Arrived at Belgrave and i stayed for awhile to take some photos. I mean it's not everyday you'll get to be here, right?

We left Puffing Billy and took the Metro Link back to Melbourne city. We decided to go to St. Kilda because we have one day ticket. So when we arrived at Melbourne, we took the paid tram No. 16 to St. Kilda. Again, the freezing cold weather greets us :D (Sejuk bekuuuuuuu!!!)

at St. Kilda. That is the tram tha we ride to get here.

Too bad when we arrive, The Luna Park is closed (Dammit!) so i just took the building photos :( then we go around walking St. Kilda beach but left quickly because of the cold weather. Then we went to the Acland street nearby to see the town and the famous cakeshop.

Luna Park. It's like a theme park. But it was closed when i get there.

Acland Street is long and straight.

When it's getting dusk.. we left St. Kilda Back to Melbourne city. Then we went to Chilli Padi restaurant to have some "Teh Tarik" (Pull tea hehe). It was a great feeling to get "Teh Tarik in cold weather. Then we get "seafood laksa". Imagine we have to pay for "Teh Tarik" and "Seafood laksa" if we converted our money eventhough without tax or service charge.

"Teh Tarik" came with red bright colour of papercup. nice!

The menu

Seafood Laksa. The portion is big. it's enough for 2 person

After that I went back to space. At night my other travel friends went out for snacking and i tagged along. After that we went back to the hotel.
